SLJ Day 5 Activity 1 - Towering Timbers

Personally, I think logging should not be allowed. It should not be allowed because firstly, trees are what give us oxygen, so if we cut a lot of trees then we would be cutting our oxygen supply and secondly, a lot of wild animals have forests as their habitats so cutting forest would mean minimizing the shelter of animals.I think logging should have enforced laws like cutting  1 tree per day per person, so at least logging would be minimized over the years.

  1. Hello again Maanas. Thank you for writing and sharing your thoughts on logging in New Zealand and whether or not we should be cutting down trees to make various goods. I like that you've justified your stance with several different reasons. If we aren't logging in New Zealand, how will we create furniture and homes? What other materials could we be using?

    Thanks, Billy.

  2. Hi Billy, Thanks for reading my blog post. To answer your questions, I think companies can import logs from other countries and we could also make the framework of furnitures with plastic like a plastic chair or a plastic table instead of a wooden one.
