Attitude Talk

2 days ago, Team 5 had an attitude talk in which tony from Attitude talked about how to Tackle Technology. He told us about how kids are willing to talk to people online more than willing to talk to people in real life. He told us that people can act like a 12 year old even though they could be 20 years old and there could be no way of knowing. People could also be mean to you and there could be no way of knowing.

Should uniforms be necessary?

Can you believe people think students should not wear school uniform? Students should wear school uniforms because students won’t get judged by other people for wearing bad clothes, student attendance is better and It is easier to find a trespasser.

Firstly, People won’t get judged/bullied by other people for having a different clothing style which they don’t like. For example, if someone doesn’t jeans with holes in them and you wear them to school they will probably judge you but if your school has a mandatory uniform code everybody will look the same.

Secondly, The student attendance is better in schools with uniform policies.
According to Natalie Regoli from Vittana.org ”When there is a mandatory school uniform code in place, statistics show that student attendance rises.” Students can focus more on their work since they are not shy of getting judged by other people at school because everyone has the same clothes.

Finally, It is easier to find a person who does not belong to the school. If there is someone trying to hide amongst school students it would be easy to find them since they will stick out like a sore thumb.

Schools should have mandatory school uniforms because it would be fair for everyone, students can focus more on their studies and students would be safer.
Do YOU think students should have to wear school uniforms?

Should Zoos be banned?

Can you believe that zoos aren’t already banned? Zoos are struggling financially, the lives of animals are dependent on the treatments of humans and breeding programs are not a guarantee for species’ survival.

Many zoos are struggling financially and can no longer care for their animals properly.

Even Big zoos like The Woodland Park Zoo in Seattle had $2 million more expenses than their revenue. Lots of zoos also have to euthanize animals and lots of time animals are killed just because they are not popular and they require a lot of money to grow.

Breeding programs are not a guarantee for species survival.\

Some animals like The Giant Panda is a prime example of how difficult breeding programs in captivity can be. Up through the 1990s, about 30% of Giant Pandas in captivity could reproduce. When the cubs were born, most of them would die while still in infancy. Survival Percentages have risen up to 70% since then.

The lives of animals are secondary to the lives of people.

Crystal Ayres from vittana.org said ”If visitors intrude into the animal enclosure, it is usually the life of the animal that is put at risk. An example of this occurred in 2016 when a 3-year old boy was left unsupervised long enough to crawl into a gorilla enclosure. To save the boy, the zoo killed the male gorilla named Harambe.”

In conclusion, zoos should be banned and other alternatives like sanctuaries or an Eco-vacation may be way better environmentally and way more enjoyable.
